No, you do not need any experience to become a Barre Eclipse instructor. We originally created this program when we owned local studios, and we were training up community members to become instructors. You can start from scratch and get *everything* you need to teach like a pro in your first class.

About 30% of our trainees are already certified barre instructors, who felt they did not get everything they needed from their first training. If you’re already certified but you struggle with counting or musicality, building your own sequences, creating consistently difficult yet high quality classes, infusing your workouts with personality and insights, creating playlists, or simply just cuing in an efficient way, our program will serve you well!

When you sign up, you also receive our continuing education and class planning tool ‘The Source’. The Source gives you 14 pre-built sequences and playlists, as well as career lectures (like how to land a teaching gig) and lectures on dynamic sequencing.

Our online barre certification is entirely pre-recorded, so you can take the classes at your own pace! Most lectures are under 10 minutes, so you can listen and learn while in the flow of your daily life.

Our course contains about 50 hours of content, but every lecture is jam-packed and content-rich. If you are listening to lectures, implementing the techniques via practice teaching and taking classes to solidify your knowledge, it will likely take you around 5 weeks to complete the program. We encourage you to move slowly through the modules– they’re organised so that it fully ‘lands’ with you before moving on to the next module. Most people use the full 4 months to complete the program.

We have certified Barre Eclipse instructors in over 35 countries! Our certificate is approved by NASM/AFAA which is recognized internationally. Every country is different, but most countries allow the fitness industry to be self-regulated and you don’t need a formal certification to teach barre.

With that said, having a barre certification may help you get a foot in the door when you’re applying for instructor positions. Having industry recognition is super important in the fitness industry. Our barre certificate is NASM/AFAA approved, and you are certified to call your classes ‘barre’. If you’d like to call your workouts Barre Eclipse and use the brand to further your career, you have the option to get licensed. To become a licensed Barre Eclipse instructor, you must uphold the teaching techniques you learned in our online certification course and demonstrate that you can teach the Barre Eclipse style. This ensures that students can have a consistent high quality barre experience in any Barre Eclipse class they take, anywhere in the world!

Licensed Barre Eclipse instructors can use the Barre Eclipse brand to further their career. Upon being licensed, you’ll be able to use our logos, photos, and copy to promote your local barre classes. You also might have opportunities to be featured on the Barre Eclipse app like Brandy, Khat, and the instructors in our European Instructor Showcase. We are always seeking new and amazing instructors to add to our platform– and we only hire licensed Barre Eclipse instructors.

No. Once you graduate from Barre Eclipse teacher training, you have a solid foundation and you do not need further training to become an exceptional instructor. The best way to become a fantastic instructor is to actually get out there and teach. Teach as much as you can to gain experience and become better at using the Barre Eclipse teaching techniques and instructing your students.

You will have the option to become a licensed Barre Eclipse instructor, which is free for the first year and $50/year afterwards. If you become licensed, we grant you access to our logos, marketing assets and copy to further your career. Your annual fee will go towards our legal fees to maintain the Barre Eclipse trademark, which we update frequently to ensure they are useful for you.
