My Personal Pocket Yoga App Review As A Yoga Teacher That You Shouldn’t Miss

Pocket Yoga is an excellent app if you struggle to keep yourself accountable or can't seem to keep up a consistent practice. The more you work out with Pocket Yoga, the more benefits you unlock. In this Pocket Yoga App review, I'll dive deeper into what the platform offers, so keep reading to learn all about it!

Pocket Yoga offers everything from helping you create your daily yoga routine to HIIT workouts and slow-paced flexibility flows. It's not only a popular online yoga app but also a yoga fitness app with intense HIIT classes!

Thanks to the in-depth pose dictionary, you'll have plenty of ways to enjoy yoga and learn how to do each pose – this is my favorite part of the entire app.

Plus, having the Sun Salutations A and B series at my fingertips has definitely made this app one that I would absolutely recommend to yogis who want to learn the foundations.

Pocket Yoga App pros and cons

  • Excellent set of daily yoga routines for beginners.
  • No monthly subscription.
  • Each pose has instructions.
  • Points are needed to unlock certain features.
  • Limited selection of classes (I like large variety).
  • No live classes.
  1. Download the Pocket Yoga app on Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  2. Pay the one-time fee.
  3. Begin your daily yoga practice.

This yoga app offers three vinyasa-style classes (ocean, desert, and mountain) in 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions. You can choose your level of training, from beginner to immediate and advanced.

On top of that, you'll have access to their extra Sun Salutations A and Sun Salutations B classes. You can even choose the number of repetitions you want to do.

If you're a homebody, an office-dweller, or a studio crawler, you'll have the perfect setting to choose from with Pocket Yoga. When you consistently practice and earn enough “karma points,” you'll unlock up to 10 environments. Every 15 minutes of practice equals 1 Karma point.

You can stream yoga classes to your TV using Airplay. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take any chance I can do yoga in my living room in front of my TV. All of the integration compatibilities are one of the reasons why I think Pocket Yoga is a top contender for the best at-home yoga app.

Pocket Yoga App review: Site Overview

Vinyasa, Sun Salutations, HIIT

Pocket Yoga does not charge recurring membership fees. You'll only have to pay a one-time fee of $2.99!

As a yoga teacher, nothing makes me happier than knowing that millions of others have an accessible way to take a virtual yoga class.

On Pocket Yoga, each pose has an image that explains in detail how to get into the posture, the benefits of it, and the correct positioning.

When I was a beginner yogi, I needed something simple to get me started in the complex world of yoga. I think that this is the best online yoga app for anyone who wants to familiarise themselves with the intricate details of the poses.

In my opinion, this makes it one of the top yoga apps for beginners.

You'll pay a one-time fee when downloading the Pocket Yoga app, which means there is no free trial. That said, it’s only $2.99, making it an extremely affordable yoga app option.

Other free yoga apps are out there, but I think it is worth downloading Pocket Yoga for the low price that the Pocket Yoga app is going for.

The app is simple and easy to navigate, which I love as I am not the most technologically inclined. When testing the app to create my Pocket Yoga App review, I found it to be an effortless experience.

When you open the app, you'll be directed to the page where you'll find various workout options. This is where you can start your first virtual class.

On the lower left-hand side, you'll find the settings where you can customize your experience by changing the voice and music volume.

You can connect it to your Apple or Spotify music, which is a game changer for me and makes it one of the top yoga apps that I recommend.

You can track your heart rate in the settings, which is a cool feature.

To track your karma points, look to the lower right-hand side, where you’ll find an ohm symbol. You'll be able to keep track of all the Karma points you have accumulated while taking classes on the app. (Let's hope it's all good, Karma!).

  • iOS
  • Android

The app is only available for a once-off fee, meaning no subscription or cancellation.

  • Apple App Store – 4.8
  • Google Play Store – 4.3

One thing I appreciate about Pocket Yoga is how community-orientated it is and how it gives new yoga teachers a platform to explore and gain experience.

I love Joshua's classes, and his online presence is respectable. I like that he takes it upon himself to educate the world on more than just the physical asana on his Instagram. His voice is also soothing and perfect for yoga!

To summarize my Pocket Yoga App review, even though there are other apps that may be considered top free yoga apps, I think you get your money's worth for the platform—especially since it’s only $2.50!

Beginner yogis will benefit from the yoga pose dictionary, which makes correcting your alignment easier.

I also think it’s a great platform to keep yourself accountable for your workouts because of the unlockable features available IF you get all of your classes in. Sometimes it's a good thing to need to work for our rewards, right?!

This is the best yoga app for someone who wants a simple yoga practice in the comfort of their own home, with no strings attached.
